Four children endured more than six years of confinement, sexual abuse, and neglect while trapped inside a commercial semi-truck’s sleeper cab, leading to 20 criminal charges against two Florida caregivers who transformed their vehicle into what prosecutors call a rolling prison.

Six Years of Abuse on America’s Highways

From January 2020 through April 2026, the four children lived with their caregivers inside the cramped sleeper cab of a commercial truck traveling between Atlanta and Miami. The driver made regular stops throughout Florida, including Orlando, while the children remained hidden inside. All four victims shared a single bunk and investigators report they received inadequate food, basic hygiene, schooling, and medical attention during their ordeal.

Two children suffered untreated burns that produced permanent scars. Medical examinations after their rescue revealed one child contracted a sexually transmitted infection while in the couple’s custody. The two girls reported enduring years of sexual abuse, while the two boys witnessed the crimes. When the boys confronted one caregiver and reported the abuse to the other, they faced physical beatings as punishment for speaking out.

Confessions and Criminal Charges

Florida’s attorney general announced the charges in Orange County, where prosecutors will handle the case. During a post-arrest interview, one suspect admitted to committing three sexual batteries against one of the girls after being read his rights. At least one of these crimes occurred in Orlando. The second caregiver allegedly knew about the ongoing abuse but failed to stop the attacks or report them to authorities.

The couple faces charges of sexual battery, molestation, and child neglect. Special counsels will prosecute the case in Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit, which covers Orange and Osceola counties. Investigators emphasized the case remains active and additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.
