A longtime Planet Fitness member in New Hampshire had her membership canceled after she reported finding a biological male in the women’s locker room, marking the latest conflict between corporate policy and customer safety concerns at the national fitness chain.
Member Confrontation Leads to Termination
Judy Walcott told Fox News Digital she was shaken after encountering someone she believed to be a man inside the women’s locker room at her local Planet Fitness location. When she first reported the incident to staff, she was informed they could not take action due to company policy. Days later, when she raised the issue again with another employee, the conversation quickly deteriorated. The staff member allegedly interrupted her concerns and repeatedly called her transphobic before Walcott walked away from the exchange.

Within hours of the confrontation, the gym’s manager contacted Walcott to inform her that her membership had been canceled for a policy violation. A cancellation form dated April 15 with an effective date of May 16 appeared in her member portal. The comment field reportedly stated: “Nondiscrimination Trans.” Walcott described her reaction to the initial encounter as physical trembling, saying it disturbed her that severely. The gym chain maintains a gender identity non-discrimination policy allowing members to use facilities matching their self-reported gender identity.
Pattern of Policy Enforcement
Planet Fitness faced similar controversy in 2024 when it terminated the membership of Patricia Silva at a Fairbanks, Alaska location. Silva reported photographing a biological male shaving in the women’s locker room in front of a 12-year-old girl who appeared uncomfortable. The company defended its decision, with chief corporate affairs officer McCall Gosselin stating that member discomfort does not justify denying access to transgender members. The gym chain violated Silva for breaking its mobile device policy prohibiting photographs in locker rooms rather than addressing the underlying safety concern.
Financial Impact and Corporate Stance
Following the Alaska incident, Planet Fitness reportedly experienced a $400 million drop in market value as public backlash intensified. Despite the financial consequences, the company continues defending its inclusive policies under what it brands as the Judgement Free Zone philosophy. The policy allows any member claiming a sincere, self-reported gender identity to access corresponding facilities without verification requirements. This approach prioritizes stated identity over biological sex, creating ongoing friction between corporate values and traditional expectations about sex-segregated private spaces in fitness facilities.
It is time to put all of this foolishness to rest and state that God made male and female so there are no other sexual identities. Men and women have been separated by sex as long as they have existed, men do not belong in a woman’s restroom, locker room or anywhere else that makes her uncomfortable. People need to learn some common sense and use it.
Judgment free zone? That’s hilarious. Being male or female is not a Judgment call. Its a fact. Declaring that you are other than what you are, IS a Judgment call, ergo, they do not have a Judgment free zone.
I had the same issue! I was getting out of the shower & there was one standing there looking at me. I said, excuse me you don’t belong here. He said yes I do!. I went out to complain but they just told me it was a judgement free zone, I quit that same day – October 30, 2022… Sure do miss it still but they don’t care about women or who comes into their stalls, shower or restrooms!
A number of years ago when planet fitness started talking about making this wickedness a reality, I went in and quit and I told them the reason, I believe in protecting ladies and girls, also I told them the God made male and female.

Interesting that they didn’t deny men in women’s locker room because of her discomfort, but isn’t that the exact reason this man wants to be allowed in the women’s locker room because of his discomfort. The definition is being a hypocritical policy. PF should consider any man could travel around all these PF facilities claiming that they have transgender, when in fact he isn’t and is taking advantage of the situation.

Losing 400 million in stock is nothing to planet Fitness they have over 200 million members And that number is growing substantially everyday. Yes I agree Are you still only be male and female but things have changed and it’s not like that anymore so everyone just needs to get over it because it’s not going to change.

No. I will not get over it. I kicked an old man and his wife out of a ladies room in a casino about twenty years ago. He had decided that he went into the ladies room in Japan and other countries so he could do it in America. The bathroom was full of women who didn’t know what to say. I did. ” Get out”. I feel the same way today.
It already HAS changed. It’s now 2026 and in Loveland, CO, a man was taking a shower in the women’s PF locker room. He got arrested. Ha. Ha. Ha.
No, you do not have get over stupidity, just cancel like it seems so many have, and many more will when this policy is better known. Not a company i would be planning to but shares in.

MLK day Jan2026 @77 years old white female I was told ordered to leave PF Show Low AZ 85901 as I am a white oppressors like ICE by brown skin PF employees threats to call the Navajo Sheriff and Show Low Police because I’m rude for refusing to have my photo taken again. Brown skin member joined in to discrimination elder abuse confrontation refusing me the use of sign in computer. I pay monthly fee for physical fitness therapy prescribed by a doctor who also goes there for massage therapy after his work day. My monthly membership fee continues to be taken out of my checking account auto pay. I’m refused entrance because I’m white.
engage an attorney, and demand a refund of all amounts paid based on sanity management rules.
As long as women continue to be part of companies that do this, & refuse to end it, don’t complain. These days the peaceful, successful, protest is the wallet
Planet Fitness No Judgement Advertized Policy only applies to what they choose to apply or not apply it to. In My case against PF I Called the corporate office Spoke to an employee from India with no appropriate responses to anything I questioned including free wifi for non members allowed to come into PF and use it. Brown skin non member men allowed in the Black Spa area with cell phones taking photos of women list goes on. Contacted local Chamber of Comnerce and BBB PF is not a member IS Show Low AZ PF corporate or franchise owned? Very secretive! There are PF lawsuits for severe injuries and deaths. PF needs full investigation for harms and law violations; class action cases. Don’t just whine and talk about it; hold PF accountable and responsible.
