Kaylee Hottle, the 18-year-old deaf actress who brought authentic representation to Hollywood’s Godzilla franchise, died Tuesday morning when the car she was riding in left a Maryland roadway and struck a culvert at high speed.

Fatal Crash Details

Frederick County deputies responded to the single-vehicle accident at 2:52 a.m. on Windsor Road in Ijamsville. A 19-year-old Frederick man driving a Honda Accord veered off the right side of the road, investigators said. The collision trapped the driver inside the vehicle. Authorities identified excessive speed as a likely contributing factor to the crash that claimed Hottle’s life.

Emergency responders transported both occupants to area hospitals. The driver sustained injuries but is expected to survive. Hottle, who lived in Kyle, Texas, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
