A Miami Beach biotech executive was captured on surveillance video entering his luxury high-rise with the man now accused of murdering him by hurling him off a 25th-floor balcony just three days later, according to newly released footage that shows the final moments before the deadly February incident.

Fatal Encounter Caught On Camera

Justin Zelin, 35, was found dead on the pavement outside the Akoya Condominium building on the morning of February 15 after falling from his apartment balcony. Surveillance footage from three days earlier shows him walking into the building with Corey Hutterli, 37, who appeared to be carrying several bottles of alcohol. Authorities ruled Zelin’s death resulted from blunt force trauma after being pushed from his balcony. Police body camera footage later captured the moment officers discovered the executive’s body on the ground outside the luxury complex.

Desperate 911 Call Moments Before Death

Zelin placed a frantic 911 call reporting a disturbance inside his apartment just moments before his fatal fall. In the recorded conversation, prosecutors say Zelin could be heard saying, “Get away from me Sasha,” which authorities identified as an alias used by Hutterli. When officers arrived at the scene, they encountered Hutterli leaving Zelin’s apartment in what police described as an excited state, sweating and out of breath. He wore only socks with no shoes and told officers, “Somebody, he freaked out, attacked me.”

Evidence Points To Violent Struggle

Police found Zelin’s apartment in complete disarray following the incident. Officers discovered Hutterli’s sandals abandoned on the balcony alongside what appeared to be blood smudges on the railing. Clumps of beard hair matching Hutterli’s were scattered throughout the living room, with more hair found stuffed inside his backpack. A jacket recovered from the scene contained a small baggie of ketamine in the pocket. When questioned by officers, Hutterli asked, “What is the situation? Did he jump?” He was detained at the scene and allowed to call his mother in a conversation captured on police body cameras.

Murder Charges Filed

Hutterli now faces second-degree murder charges in connection with Zelin’s death. Authorities believe the two men engaged in a physical altercation inside the apartment that ended with Hutterli pushing the biotech executive over the balcony railing. The combination of physical evidence, witness statements, and the 911 recording led investigators to determine this was not a suicide or accident but a homicide following a violent confrontation between the two men.
