Mom ORDERS HIT On Her Own Son

A Miami woman who attempted to hire a contract killer to murder her three-year-old son walked free from court with only probation, sparking questions about the justice system’s accountability when mental illness intersects with violent crime.

The Chilling Request That Raised Red Flags

Jazmin Paez, now 20 years old, submitted a detailed request through rentahitman.com in July 2023, asking for her toddler to be killed before the week’s end. The website, actually a parody site designed to catch would-be criminals, receives hundreds of similar messages daily. However, Paez’s submission stood out because she provided photographs of the child and specific location details where he could be found. Site owner Robert Innes immediately recognized the legitimacy of the threat when he verified the child actually lived at the address Paez provided, prompting him to contact authorities.

Prosecutors charged Paez with solicitation of first-degree murder, unlawful use of a communications device, and evidence tampering after her arrest. She faced up to 40 years in prison if convicted on all counts. The case presented unusual circumstances that would ultimately influence the sentencing outcome.

Probation Deal Raises Eyebrows

On Monday, Paez entered guilty pleas to all charges but received a withhold of adjudication, meaning she avoids the legal classification of convicted felon despite admitting to the crimes. Her sentence includes two years of community control, followed by 12 years of reporting probation extending until 2040, and mandatory behavioral therapy for an indefinite period. During court proceedings, Paez disclosed a schizophrenia diagnosis, which likely factored into prosecutorial decisions regarding her case disposition.

Child Now Safe With Grandmother

The three-year-old at the center of this case has been permanently removed from Paez’s custody through dependency court proceedings that terminated her parental rights. The child has since been adopted by Paez’s own mother, providing stability in a family environment. Paez currently resides with her biological father and remains prohibited from any contact with the child until her probation concludes in 2040. The court-ordered separation ensures the child’s safety while Paez receives required mental health treatment over the next 14 years.
