The family of Austin Metcalf, a stabbing victim whose killer was convicted Tuesday, faces a barrage of death threats and harassment from supporters of the convicted murderer, with law enforcement now investigating explicit threats against family members.
Threats Intensify After Guilty Verdict
Death threats against the Metcalf family began after Karmelo Anthony’s arrest in April 2025 but escalated dramatically following Tuesday’s unanimous guilty verdict. According to TMZ, threatening messages obtained by the outlet include statements that Austin’s identical twin brother Hunter should have died and that Austin deserved his fate. Other messages contain explicit threats to appear at family homes and disturbing references to desecrating Austin’s grave at the cemetery.
Law enforcement officials confirmed awareness of the threats as of Wednesday evening. No suspects have been identified and no arrests announced in connection with the harassment campaign targeting the grieving family members.
Courthouse Confrontation Captured on Video
The threatening messages follow disturbing video footage from outside the Collin County Courthouse immediately after sentencing. The footage shows a mob of Anthony supporters physically following and verbally assaulting the Metcalf family as they departed under sheriff’s deputy escort. Hunter Metcalf, who held his dying twin brother in his arms after the stabbing, was among those targeted by the crowd.
Video from the scene captured Anthony supporters chanting celebrations of Austin’s death while the family attempted to reach their vehicles. Sheriff’s deputies provided escort through the parking lot as the harassment continued. Earlier that same day, the crowd cheered a supporter who declared both Metcalf brothers should have been killed.
Pattern of Intimidation
The threats represent an escalating pattern of harassment directed at the victim’s family throughout the legal proceedings. The intensity of the campaign increased significantly after the jury delivered its guilty verdict, with messages becoming more explicit and specific about potential violence. The Metcalf family maintained composure during the courthouse confrontation despite aggressive verbal attacks from the crowd.
What This Means
This case highlights growing concerns about mob harassment of crime victims’ families during high-profile trials. The threats against the Metcalfs continue even after the conviction, raising questions about adequate protection for families seeking justice through the legal system. Law enforcement’s ongoing investigation will determine whether criminal charges follow for those making explicit threats against the family members.

They harass, and make threats. Let them cool their heels in jail.
This is bring the country back to the 60s when it was race against race, seems they want that again, and the hood people will not win this either. Cops should arrest them when they threaten or harass like that and courts should put them in jail, enough is enough with this racial bs
Amen
that is what Obama and the Corrupt Socialist Democrats, want.
As the Gunny used to say in the Marines, “Keep a light coat of oil on them weapons, lads.” The time to use them on massive black criminality seems to be on the way.
If those same people were making the same threats towards the judge or to any politician they would already be behind bars and headed for a lengthy prison term. It is past time to make those assholes pay for their hate. Especially since Anthony admitted that he wanted to kill Metcalf. He went there with a weapon intending to hurt someone…anyone
