Police are searching for a female customer who threw a burrito bowl directly at a Chipotle employee’s face during a confrontation at the restaurant. The violent incident was captured on surveillance footage and has sparked an investigation into the assault.
Violent Outburst Caught On Camera
The incident occurred when an argument between the customer and restaurant staff escalated into physical violence. Surveillance video shows the woman hurling the burrito bowl at close range, striking the employee directly in the face with the food container. The force of the impact and the contents of the bowl caused immediate injury to the worker, who was standing behind the service counter at the time of the assault.
The confrontation reportedly began over a dispute about the customer’s order. What started as a verbal disagreement quickly turned violent when the woman grabbed her food and used it as a weapon against the staff member. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with other customers present during the assault.
Police Investigation Underway
Law enforcement officials have released information about the incident and are actively seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect. The woman left the restaurant immediately after the assault, and authorities are reviewing security footage to track her movements. Police have not yet released the suspect’s name but are treating the case as an assault investigation.
The injured employee received medical attention following the incident. Restaurant management has been cooperating fully with the police investigation and has provided all available security footage to help identify the assailant. Chipotle representatives have not yet issued a public statement about the incident or what additional security measures might be implemented.
Rising Workplace Violence Against Service Workers
This incident adds to growing concerns about violence against retail and food service employees across the country. Workers in customer-facing roles have reported increasing hostility and physical confrontations, particularly in disputes over orders or service issues. Industry advocates have called for stronger protections for employees and harsher penalties for customers who assault workers.
Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is urged to contact local police. Authorities emphasize that assaulting a service worker is a serious crime that carries significant legal consequences, including potential jail time and substantial fines.

Many of the workers at fast food places are probably the reason customers throw things at them, its called stupidity because they foul up the orders often, especially at the drive thru which is the main reason i dont use the drive thru every.
Face it, people have become entitled, impatient, and are overgrown spoiled brats. They throw a tantrum when they can’t get their way. They don’t respect rules, refuse to see that items that belong to other people are not theirs as well, and so on. Once, back in the late 70s or 80s, I was at a restaurant, and the waitress kept bringing me the wrong order. I dealt with it calmly, but I could see her tensing up. Fortunately the older couple at a nearby table called her over, because it was their order. She just went to the wrong table. They can have bad days too, you know. Likely she was under pressure, working for barely minimum wage, and maybe she had an apartment to pay rent for, food to buy, etc.. If someone keeps screwing up the order, let management know. If they do nothing, you have this helpful friend called Yelp. We didn’t have that in my day, when the above incident occurred.
