Anti-ICE Mob SURROUNDS Worker — Gun Comes Out

Two federal employees were hospitalized after a violent mob of up to 50 demonstrators attacked them outside the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, prompting felony charges against two arrested protesters and a stern warning from federal prosecutors.

Violent Confrontation Caught On Camera

Video footage captured the shocking assault as protesters followed Bureau of Prisons employees into a parking lot near Alameda and Commercial streets. The demonstrators first taunted the workers as they finished their shifts, then suddenly launched physical attacks. One federal worker was pummeled near a set of stairs while another had his authorized clear bag snatched from his hands. The situation escalated when protesters grabbed one agent by his backpack and struck him repeatedly with punches.

The federal employee under attack drew his firearm while attempting to retreat from approximately a dozen protesters who surrounded him with cameras and mobile phones. Multiple 911 calls brought LAPD Central Division officers to the scene. The victims were transported to local hospitals with undisclosed injuries, where they remained as of the report.

Unprecedented Assault On Federal Agents

First Assistant US Attorney Bill Essayli for the Central District of California called the persistent attacks on federal agents unprecedented. He stated that assault levels against federal agents have never reached this magnitude. Essayli emphasized that anyone who assaults or stalks a federal officer will face felony charges, warning that such attacks endanger all parties because officers are legally permitted to defend themselves with reasonable force.

The two arrested suspects face felony and misdemeanor battery charges. LAPD confirmed the demonstrators deliberately and suddenly attacked the federal employees with multiple strikes. The group included individuals carrying Palestine flags and wearing face coverings during the anti-ICE demonstration.

Ongoing Tensions At Detention Facility

The Metropolitan Detention Center, which houses both an immigration detention facility and US District Court, has become a focal point for activist demonstrations. Protesters have gathered based on rumors that illegal migrants are being secretly detained in the building’s basement. The facility continues to operate despite the heightened tensions and security concerns raised by the violent incident.
