A California father whose seven-year-old daughter suffered permanent disabilities in a 2024 crash involving an illegal alien truck driver delivered a searing rebuke to Democratic lawmakers during a congressional hearing on sanctuary policies, holding them directly responsible for the consequences of their immigration stance.
Devastating Injuries From Construction Zone Crash
Marcus Coleman’s daughter Dalilah sustained a fractured skull, broken femur, and traumatic brain injury when an 18-wheel tractor-trailer struck her vehicle in Southern California. Authorities identified the driver as Partap Singh, an illegal alien from India who had obtained a California commercial driver’s license. Singh was traveling at 60 miles per hour, driving at unsafe speed and failing to stop for traffic in a construction zone.
The crash destroyed more than Dalilah’s health. Coleman stopped working as a truck driver to care for his daughter, forcing him to stretch limited resources across nine children. The financial devastation compounds daily as medical needs continue mounting.
Rejecting Hollow Congressional Sympathy
Coleman testified before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement with pointed accusations. He told Democratic lawmakers that none had expressed condolences outside the hearing room despite encountering him in congressional hallways. Coleman accused them of grandstanding only when cameras were present, claiming they care solely when performing for public consumption.
He challenged sanctuary city policies directly, suggesting lawmakers were mentally impaired for supporting such approaches. Pointing to his disabled daughter, Coleman declared her the end result of sanctuary policies. He contrasted his wife’s legal immigration process with those who entered illegally, emphasizing she followed proper procedures.
Sanctuary State Policies Under Fire
California became a sanctuary state in October 2017 under then-Governor Jerry Brown’s Senate Bill 54. The law prohibits state and local police from investigating or detaining individuals solely for immigration enforcement purposes. Local jails cannot hold someone past their release date simply because Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a detainer request, except for certain serious felony convictions.
ICE told The California Post that sanctuary politicians must stop prioritizing politics over public safety, warning this approach leads to more crimes and innocent victims. Another mother, Patricia Fox, testified about her daughter Carissa Aspnes, permanently disabled after a March 2025 hit-and-run in Colorado involving an illegal alien from Venezuela who fled the scene.
Personal Accountability and Warning
Coleman ended his testimony holding each Democratic lawmaker personally responsible for his daughter’s condition. He emphasized that Dalilah never asked for her injuries, while those who entered illegally knew exactly what they were doing. Coleman warned that similar incidents occur daily, and he will always hold sanctuary policy supporters accountable for these consequences.
Jerry Brown should pay for all medical expenses for the rest of her life due to his inadiquate decisions. Same goes for Colorado. The politician responsible should be financing the bill. Until these types are heald responsible, this will continue to go on.

Very sad AND for ALL other famile affected by CRIME to them or their families by ILLEGALS!!!! Democrats shold hang their head in shame and sorrow, but they won’tcause DEMOCRATS DON’T CARE!!!!
