Athlete With No Limbs Now CAUGHT In Killing

A professional athlete who overcame quadruple amputation as an infant now faces first-degree murder charges after allegedly shooting a friend to death during an argument while driving his Tesla through Maryland.

From Medical Miracle to Professional Athlete

Dayton Webber, 27, survived against overwhelming odds as an infant when doctors gave him just a 3% chance of living after a severe bacterial infection required the amputation of both arms and legs. Despite his disability, Webber excelled at youth football and wrestling, placing fourth in his weight class in the Southern Maryland Junior Wrestling League at age 12. He later discovered cornhole, becoming the first quadruple amputee in American Cornhole League history when he turned professional in the 2021-2022 season.

Webber’s athletic achievements earned him national recognition, with his matches featured on SportsCenter and NBC’s Today show after he placed fifth in a 2023 championship competition. He adapted his throwing technique by gripping cornhole bags with the ends of his amputated arms, learning to feel when the bag was positioned correctly for release. Videos circulating online also showed Webber firing a 9mm handgun, loading magazines and using his arm to pull the trigger.

Fatal Shooting and Arrest

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrested Webber early Monday morning in La Plata, Maryland, for allegedly shooting and killing a friend on March 22 around 10:25 p.m., approximately 40 miles south of Washington, DC. According to police, Webber shot the victim while driving, then pulled over and asked two passengers in the back seat to help remove the body from the Tesla. When they refused and fled the scene, Webber allegedly drove away with the victim’s body still inside the vehicle.

Investigation and Custody

Two hours after the shooting, a homeowner called 911 to report discovering a body in their yard. Investigators connected the body to Webber and obtained an arrest warrant. Police located the Tesla in Charlottesville, Virginia, and found Webber at a nearby hospital seeking treatment for an unspecified medical issue. He remains held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail facing first-degree and second-degree murder charges. The American Cornhole League confirmed Webber had not participated as an active player since 2024.

  1. Aw, come on man, let him go! He’s suffered enough. This poor guy should be allowed to kill people that piss him off. Well, at least, to a point.

  2. What you think, will the “long arms” of the law bring justice? You have to be in awe of this man’s courage and “kill power” to accomplish all that he did! Truth is stranger than fiction, but lets hope that there is a conviction! The victim must have “shorted this willfull man” in the long run, you think?
