Crowds FLOOD Calgary as Canada Breakup Rally EXPLODES

Over 3,000 Albertans packed Calgary’s Stampede Park on Monday night to hear separatist speakers call for independence from Canada, with another 1,000 watching online as organizers collected petition signatures demanding a referendum.

Separatist Movement Gains Momentum

Alberta Prosperity Project CEO Mitch Sylvestre addressed the crowd at the Big Four Roadhouse, listing grievances against the federal government, including equalization payments, gun restrictions, and immigration policies. Long lines formed outside as attendees signed petitions calling for a referendum on Alberta’s separation from Canada. Security officials confirmed the substantial turnout for what organizers described as a crucial step toward provincial independence.

Supporters like Alex Clarke expressed love for Canada but stronger loyalty to Alberta, believing independence would provide better elderly care and government benefits. Dan Rollings, a fourth-generation Canadian, cited political corruption and over-taxation as reasons for supporting separation. He specifically blamed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s policies for his disillusionment with federal leadership.

Opposition Voice Emerges

Not all attendees supported separation. Michael Hartley, wrapped in a Canadian flag, advocated for remaining part of Canada and promoted the competing “Forever Canadian” petition. That counter-petition successfully gathered over 400,000 signatures last year and was verified by Elections Alberta as official policy supporting Canadian unity.

What This Means

The separation petition requires nearly 178,000 signatures by May 2 to trigger official action. Similar rallies are scheduled across Alberta in coming weeks, including multiple Calgary events and gatherings in smaller communities. The movement reflects growing Western frustration with federal policies, echoing historical tensions between resource-rich provinces and central government authority that resonate with American principles of local governance and state rights.

  1. As a prod Albertan and disappointed Canadian. Seperation is the only solution that will benefit my children and their families.
No interest in being the 51st state.
An independent Alberta country would be able to have trade agreements with countries throughout the world. Producing wealth, freedom, and security for our citizens.

    • Rod C, good luck whatever way you go. I love Calgary and the people there, especially the ladies. I spent about 20 years working for a US based oil company that had offices in Calgary. Great place. But stop voting for people like Carney. Great pod cast by Jasmin Laine on most of the subjects going on.
