Armed Intruder Enters Westwood Hills Elementary
Anthony Ignatiadis-Isabelle entered Westwood Hills Elementary School in Waynesboro, Virginia, approximately 30 miles west of Charlottesville, on Wednesday morning. The intruder shot one adult staff member, causing non-life-threatening injuries, before authorities discovered his body in the school library from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police Chief David Shaw confirmed no students were present in the library at the time of the incident.
The wounded staff member received treatment at a local hospital and was released the same day. Staff notified law enforcement immediately, and our school executed lockdown procedures. Every student and staff member is safe and returned home to their families,” Cassell stated.
