YouTuber Manuel “Sin City Manny” Ruiz is facing murder charges after shooting a husband and wife to death during a fight near the Bellagio fountains, turning Las Vegas into a crime scene due to a deadly social media feud. Although evidence indicates that Ruiz advanced toward the unarmed victims while firing multiple shots in what prosecutors are calling an unwarranted escalation of an online dispute, Ruiz claims self-defense in the livestreamed killings.
Social Media Dispute Turns Deadly on Las Vegas Strip
The victims, identified as YouTuber “Finny Da Legend” and his wife “Bubbly,” were killed during a confrontation that stemmed from a long-running online feud involving copyright claims and personal attacks. Their deaths were captured on video as they were livestreaming when Ruiz approached them, leading to an argument that quickly escalated into deadly violence.

Police reports indicate that Ruiz told investigators he opened fire because he believed Mr. Finley was reaching for a weapon, though neither victim was armed at the time of the shooting. Undersheriff Andrew Walsh confirmed that “the suspect and the victim had previously engaged in some type of conflict using a variety of social media platforms,” highlighting how digital disputes can tragically spill into real-world violence.
Self-Defense Claim Contradicted by Video Evidence
Despite Ruiz turning himself in the day after the shooting, his self-defense claim faces significant challenges as police review the video evidence of the incident. Law enforcement stated that “the video clearly showed Manny advancing toward Finny while shooting,” undermining Ruiz’s assertion that he feared for his life during the confrontation.

Ruiz claimed he also shot Mrs. Finley after seeing what he thought was a “shiny black object” that he believed to be a gun, but investigators have found no weapons on either victim. Fellow streamer Marquise Wiley condemned Ruiz’s actions as “unethical” and “stupid,” stating that “he deserves to be in prison for the rest of his life” for turning an internet feud into a double homicide.
Second Amendment Rights vs. Unjustified Violence
The case has sparked intense debate about the limits of self-defense claims and responsible gun ownership in America. While the Second Amendment protects Americans’ right to bear arms for self-protection, legal experts note that claiming self-defense requires a reasonable belief of imminent harm and a proportional response.
“What happened last night was a terrible act of hate, and we are heartbroken for the children and families on both sides, as well as the sorrow of losing our close friends,” said Marc Sanson, a community member familiar with both parties involved in the dispute.
A judge has ordered Ruiz to be held without bail as he awaits trial, with prosecutors preparing to present evidence that the shooting was premeditated rather than defensive. The YouTube channels of both parties have been removed from the platform, with Ruiz’s account specifically taken down for violating community guidelines against promoting violence.
