Federal agents executed a search warrant at Representative Ilhan Omar’s Washington, D.C. residence as part of a criminal investigation into immigration fraud allegations dating back to her childhood.
What Federal Agents Are Investigating
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the criminal investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security, is examining potential false statements and immigration fraud related to paperwork her late father completed when Omar was a child. The Department of Justice is assisting in the investigation, with Attorney General Todd Blanche personally aware of the search. Unlike Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s deportation operations, HSI special agents focus on criminal investigations involving immigration document fraud, identity fraud, and immigration benefit fraud.
The Justice Department confirmed HSI executed the search warrant as part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation. Sources familiar with the matter indicated the DOJ consulted its Public Integrity section before proceeding with the search. The investigation focuses on documents completed decades ago when Omar immigrated to the United States as a minor.
Omar Claims Political Targeting
The Minnesota Democrat responded on social media, stating she had done nothing wrong and characterizing the raid as political intimidation. Omar’s office released a statement calling the search an outrageous abuse of power and an unprecedented escalation in weaponizing federal law enforcement against political enemies. She specifically blamed former President Trump, claiming he has targeted her with baseless lies and smear campaigns for ten years.
House Democratic leadership echoed these concerns. Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, along with Representatives Katherine Clark and Pete Aguilar, described the raid as deeply disturbing and questioned the continued corrupt weaponization of federal government against Trump adversaries. Omar posted that she would not be silenced by what she views as political intimidation tactics.
Border Czar Previously Signaled Investigation
Border czar Tom Homan revealed in September that an ongoing criminal investigation into the congresswoman existed. During a Fox News interview, Homan confirmed something had been reported that needed examination. Omar stated at that time she had not been contacted regarding any investigation. The current search represents a significant escalation in federal scrutiny of the congresswoman’s immigration history and documentation submitted when she arrived in America as a child refugee.

Why? Because she is a woman? Because she is a democrat? Because she is from Somalia? Because she knowingly supported Somalia fraud? Because she hates Trump? Because her religion calls for Muslims to convert or kill all non-believers? Because she supports socialism? Why??? I’ll wait.
I want her and her corruption cartel out of office and out of our country as much as anyone else, but the reasoning for the raid is, on the surface, tissue paper thin. This better be more than election season political smoke blowing.
