Concerns regarding the safety of two Idaho teenagers who are thought to have been kidnapped by the extreme FLDS church have been raised by the issuance of an Amber Alert in the wake of disturbing “end times” predictions. The mother of the children, who fled the divisive religious organization in 2020, cautions that disturbing claims that children must die in order to be “resurrected as pure beings” are among the recent disclosures made by FLDS leader Warren Jeffs, who is currently in prison.
Religious Cult’s Deadly Prophecy Threatens Missing Teens
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office issued an Amber Alert for Allen Larand Fisher, 13, and Rachelle “Shelly” Leray Fischer, 15, who disappeared from their Monteview, Idaho home on June 22. The teens, last seen wearing traditional FLDS attire, are believed to be traveling to Trenton, Utah, where the family previously lived before their mother, Elizabeth Roundy, escaped the fundamentalist Mormon offshoot in 2020.

Authorities believe the children may have left willingly due to religious indoctrination, potentially traveling in a gray Honda sedan. Their disappearance comes amid reports from anti-FLDS organizations that church leaders are actively gathering children for an impending “end of times” event, where followers believe the children will die and be resurrected as “pure” and “translated beings.”
Mother Fears Children Brainwashed After Her Escape
Elizabeth Roundy, who was awarded custody of her children after leaving the FLDS church in 2020, believes her children have been brainwashed against her. “They consider me to be an apostate now,” Roundy told reporters, expressing grave concern for her children’s safety amid the cult’s increasingly apocalyptic teachings.

This isn’t the first disappearance in the family – the teens’ older sister, Elintra Dee Fisher, 18, has been missing since January 1, 2023. Authorities suspect Elintra may be involved in taking her siblings back to Utah, though this remains unconfirmed as investigators continue searching for evidence regarding the vehicle used in their departure.
Dangerous Cult History Heightens Concerns
The FLDS church has faced numerous legal challenges, including charges of child marriages, sexual assault, and human trafficking under the leadership of Warren Jeffs. Tonia Tewel from the non-profit Holding Out HELP explained the dangerous situation: “There are some revelations out that are concerning from the FLDS church, that talk about becoming translated beings, but they must die first.”
“…And they’ll be risen like Jesus Christ in two and a half to three days. It’s a five-year revelation. We’re three years into it. And so I think she’s (Roundy) worried that her kid’s life may be taken at the end of the day.”
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has narrowed the time frame for the teens’ disappearance to between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on June 22. Law enforcement officials are actively seeking information from the public and can be contacted at 208-745-9210 option 7, as concerns grow about the children’s safety amid the cult’s disturbing “end times” prophecies.
